Unfortunately I live in Texas so I don’t really get to experience a winter wonderland like everyone else, but, a girl can dream. Hopefully I will experience winter and snow again at some point in my life but I have no clue when that will actually be.
What book is so happy and sweet that it warms your heart?
Well Met by Jen Deluca – It’s just so cute that I can’t resist smiling when I think about the characters! I feel like I’ve talked about this book nonstop since I read it but it’s seriously adorable!
What is your favourite book with a white cover?
Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson – The UK cover is white, plus this is one of my favorite books that I’ve ever read! Warbreaker is a great book to start with if you want to read Brandon Sanderson but don’t feel like you want to read a full series.
You’re sitting in a nice comfy chair, wearing a onesie, with a lovely warm hot chocolate but what MONSTER read are you reading?
I don’t particularly like reading about monsters but the next fantasy book on my list containing various mythical beings that I’m planning to read is Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare. I just finished the first book in the series and enjoyed it more than I expected so I’m excited to see where the series goes. I have never felt the desire to read The Mortal Instruments series but I couldn’t resist the pull of Victoria London in the Infernal Devices.
It started snowing so you decided to have a snowball fight! What fictional character would you love to have the snowball fight with?
I have options for who I would want to pick but honestly I can’t decide on one. I want to say the inner circle from A Court of Thorns and Roses but each and every person in the group is a super strong, super powerful fae warrior and I’m weak human so that would not end well for me. Ultimately, I think Audrey Rose Wadsworth and Thomas Cresswell from the Stalking Jack the Ripper Series by Kerri Maniscalco would be fun to have a snowball fight with because they are human but also really funny and I would probably be good friends with them if I met them in real life.
Sadly, your fire is beginning to go out. So what book would you tear the last few chapters out to throw into the fire?
Me Before You by JoJo Moyes – I would definitely throw the last few chapters of this one into the fire. This is a complicated book because it’s definitely problematic but there are elements I love about it, and it’s really meaningful to me for personal reasons. But also, the ending is not great . . .
What book is so close to your heart that you would gift to someone this Christmas who hasn’t read before but wants to get into reading?
The Calculating Stars by Mary Robinette Kowal – Is anyone actually surprised that this is the book I picked for this prompt? This is one of those books I feel like absolutely everyone should read because it’s just so good!!!
